Hidden Files Won't Unhide OR Not able to unhide file.

Open Regedit.exe and go to


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\NOHIDDEN.



There should be two registry entries there:

- CheckedValue : Type: DWORD Value: 2
- DefaultValue : Type: DWORD Value: 2

(Correct them if necessary.)

Now open the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL .

- CheckedValue : Type: DWORD Value: 1
- DefaultValue : Type: DWORD Value: 2

(Correct them if necessary.)

If the problem persists, open Start, Run, type "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" and
click OK.

Reg Setting to resolve the late opening of word document


1.Click Start, and then click Run.
2.In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3.Locate, and then click the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters.
4.With the key selected, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD.
5.Type ServerNotFoundCacheLifeTimeInSec, and then press ENTER.
6.Right-click ServerNotFoundCacheLifeTimeInSec, and then click Modify.
7.In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click Decimal.
8.In the Value data box, type the number of seconds that Windows should spend looking for the template, the folder, or the share that is missing, moved, or renamed. For example, type 180 for 180 seconds. Then, click OK.
9.On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.

Windows Explorer Error: "Class Not Registered"

To do so, Start > Click Run & type:
regsvr32 ExplorerFrame.dll
Click OK.

If it doesn't help, then its quite possible that your ExplorerFrame.dll may have been corrupted and that you may have to be replace it with a 'good' one.

"My Documents" folder automatically opens every time that you log on to a Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer


1.Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
 
3. In the right pane, right-click
Userinit, and then click Modify.

4. In the Edit String dialog box, type
Windows installation drive letter:\WINDOWS\system32  \userinit.exe under Value data, and then click OK.

5. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

6. In the right pane, right-click
PersistBrowsers, and then click Modify.

7. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box,
type 0 under Value data, and then click OK.

8. Close Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

REMEMBER PLZ DO THE CHANGES CAREFULLY OTHERWISE YOU'LL NOT BE ABLE TO LOGON FROM ANY ACCOUNT

How to resolve the Error "client services for netware has disabled the welcome screen and fast user switching"


When we try to enable fast user switching in windows XP ,he got this error message saying “client services for netware has disabled the welcome screen and fast user switching”
Lets see what is netware ?
NetWare is a network operating system (NOS) that provides transparent remote file access and numerous other distributed network services, including printer sharing and support for various applications such as e-mail transfer and database access.
Solution-
To enable welcome screen login, you need to disable the netware client services.
Follow the steps below to disable Netware client services:
How to disable netware client services?
1. Go to Control Panel > Network Connection . This will open up the network connections available on your computer.
2. Right click on the connection and select Properties.
3. In general tab, uncheck the option for Client Services for NetWare and press OK.

As shown in the picture ABOVE.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 for all the connections shown in network connections.
5. Restart your computer.
6. To enable welcome screen now, go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users login and select the option Use Welcome Screen. We hope following the above procedure you will be able to fix the trouble.


Search window opens while double-clicking on drives


Open regedit and goto following keys one by one:

To open regedit (Start>Run>Type Regedit>OK )

Locate-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell



Now locate- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell

 
In right-side pane, delete the "Default" key in both . If it doesnt work then you will get find "key", delete the key "find" under both.
